Where is my Mojo?

Hello all!

Just wanted to do a little update as to where I am now.  You may have noticed a lack of outfit posts, my usual rants and my generally not being around on here and on Twitter.

My step dad has been in hospital for over five weeks now and time to blog; tweet and write in general is short as my mind is full of other things.  I am fulfilling my pre agreed obligations but both my time and my mojo have temporarily disappeared.

I have also unfortunately had to take a step back from my monthly column "The Plus Perspective" at the amazing Fashion Worked website but being the kind person he is, the editor/creator (sometimes known as Batman in disguise) has let me take a hiatus with a view to hopefully returning back.

Although things are now (happily) slowly improving for my step dad, my mojo seems to have taken a nosedive when it comes to writing, which makes me sad, as I love to write more than anything.  Apologies also for any blog challenges that I have missed, I will try to catch up, particularly the "Suits You" challenge which I enjoy doing.

So basically I am just here to say a quick hello and that I haven't disappeared into thin air and hopefully my blog will resume to running on full throttle again soon.  All of my obligations have now been fulfilled so I may not update again for a little while, unless my motivation suddenly decides to come out from wherever it is hiding.

In the meantime, if anyone finds my mojo, can you please return to sender as I am missing it dreadfully.

Vicky xx

  1. Hi Vicky. Sorry to hear your step dad has been poorly, so glad he is on the road to recovery. Sadly life does get in the way so please don't apologise for being absent take care of yourself and your family and fingers crossed your mojo will be back very soon :) xx

  2. I'm sorry about what your step Dad is going through and I really hope things start to get better for him, however slowly it might be going. I can only imagine how awful it is for him, and how hard it must be for you and your family. It's understandable that you've lost your mojo and need to take a break, so don't feel guilty for it. You need to look after yourself and your family! Take all the time you need, and take care of yourself! xx

  3. So sorry to hear your blog mojo has left you but in the circumstances it's not surprising. I had a break of several months earlier this year and still struggle sometimes to keep in the swing of things. I've found that small steps help, so for instance I find I can usually write a blog post, and it's fine to share it on social media, but anything much more than that is a bit beyond me at the moment. I've never been a social media addict (I'm not that generation!!) and find it hard to shout about myself like some people do, but I'm not beating myself up about that and try to take each day and each blog post as it comes. When your mojo does come back, write as many blog posts as you can as you can always store them up for the weeks ahead! I am thinking of you and hope life gets a bit simpler and less busy for you very soon xxx

  4. The main thing is to look after yourself and family. It's also that time of year when I think people just go into hibernation mode anyway, so additional stress is bound to make you step away from the things that aren't as important as family and your mental health.

I do hope your stepdad continues to improve and is out of hospital and on the mend soon.
